NWA 2921 R3.8 Rumurutite Meteorite 2.90g
2.90 gram part slice of NWA 2921, a rare R3.8, S1, W3 Rumurutite chondrite found in Northwest Africa 2005. This meteorite displays an array of small chondrules and takes a great polish. NAU, a NomCom approved facility, studied this material using the latest accepted techniques so you can be confident of this rare classification. The Total Known Weight (TKW) was originally reported as 195 grams in a single stone but after a second trip, eight additional stones were recovered making the TKW 1,725 grams. We polish both sides when applicable because we feel there should be no signs of saw marks ruining the appearance of an otherwise collectable specimen. The last step in preparing each piece is to dry it using pure ethyl alcohol and a heat lamp, creating a very stable piece that resists oxidation.
