DHOFAR 1084 Awesome and Rare Lunar/Moon Meteorite 18mg

18 milligram part slice of Dhofar 1084, a feldspathic glassy-matrix fragmental breccia from the lunar highlands found 2003 in Oman.  This is one of our favorite meteorites from the Moon exhibiting bright cataclastic anorthosites in a glassy dark gray matrix.  The contrast is absolutely stunning!  Add the presence of numerous vesicles and you have a winning combination, too handsome to properly describe.  This official meteorite named Dhofar 1084 consisted of a single stone weighing 90 grams. A single confirmed pairing to this meteorite weighed 34 grams bringing the Total Known Weight to a mere 124 grams. This scarce meteorite generally brings in upwards of $2,500.00 a gram when rarely offered.  Not only are these examples exceptional, they are among the few that were legally brought out of Oman!  With the exception of Swiss scientists, only three permits were ever issued from the Sultanate of Oman for the removal of material from this country.  All of these permits were assigned to the same group of expert German hunters who were responsible for bringing this world class specimen out.
